Places to go Lima, Peru
Getting in and Out
-Air-
Some of the taxi drivers at the airport are suspect, some will charge hugely inflated fees. If you need transportation at the airport hire it inside the reception area, and use the "informal" taxis outside of it at your own risk. Remember taxis in peru negociate the price before you get in.
-Bus
Unfortunately, Lima doesn't have a big bus terminal. The Majority of buses can be found in La Victoria, not Lima's nicest neighbourhood. Check the Bus Schedule/Ticketing for more information.
Getting Around
Walking is a bit dangerous, so I'd recommend a taxi. Just remember taxi prices in peru are agreed upon before the ride, and haggle as best you can.
Places to stay
The Point Backpackers is a great chill hostel with a in house bar, hammocks, pingpong table, etc. Very social and near bars and the beach. Its relatively large and popular, offers laundry for those in need and has surfing nearby.
Things to do
Paragliding at the Miraflores mall, and costs around 60 dollars. The view is amazing.
Places to Eat
The seafood is amazing in Peru. Try the peruvian dish ceviche.
General Advice/Warnings
Columbian Cold so being in south america, plenty of backpackers wake up with a "columbian cold" its all over the place. Just use good judgement and be careful.
