Getting Around
Public transportation by bus. Cost around 2 euros. Taxis can also be used inside and outside of Tampere. The starting fee is approximately 7-8 euros for a normal taxi. Prices vary according to time of day, and amount of passengers.
Things to do
Tampere is full of exciting museums, restaurants, theaters, festivals (especially during the summer months), and it has a theme park called Sarkanniemi.
Places to Stay
Several hotel chains work all around Finland, but there are a few hostels also. Most popular hotels in Tampere are Cumulus, Hotel Tammer, Omenahotelli, and Hotelli Ilves.
Places to eat
Several wonderful restaurants are available. The main street running through the city is called Hameenkatu. Along this street a traveler can find Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, and many other types of cuisine.
Nightlife
Tampere has plenty bars for plenty different people. The bar scene ranges from bars aged 18+ with dance music, to bars with the age preference of 22+ with a more adult crowd. Bars vary from places to sit to karaoke, dancing, dining, to special interest.

Shopping can also be done along the main street in Tampere. Some of the most popular places to shop are probably H&M, Kappahl, Sokos, Stockmann, and Koskikeskus to name a few.
Events
Events are plentiful during summer months. Tampere fills up with festival-goers, music lovers, and people enjoying the vacation months. Events also include soccer games, ice hokey, basketball and other sports. One of the big events in Tampere is new years fireworks, and the opening of the "lightweeks" during winter.
